ABOUT

The Howard County Ballet (HCB) was founded by Kathi Ferguson in 1997 to give all area dancers and viewing audiences the benefit of the educational value of fine performances.   

  • HCB is a non-profit organization and is supported by a grant from the Howard County Arts Council and The Columbia Foundation.

  • In 2006, The Howard County Ballet (HCB) was awarded a residency at the Howard County Arts Council.

  • HCB provides a loving and caring environment for children and adults to perform with professionals, as well as receive excellent dance instruction.  

 

A BIT OF HISTORY

Previously The Howard County Ballet was the resident company that housed the Aesthetics Dance Studio.  Both Aesthetics and the Howard County Ballet were directed by  Kathi Ferguson, and were supported and run by the same teaching and administrative staff.  The two shared and existed symbiotically.  Starting in summer 2006, the organizations merged together under the umbrella name, Howard County Ballet.  It is the same program under the same administration but simply without the name of Aesthetics.
